DELSU Issues Red Alert As Abraka Boils Again
The Management of Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) has advised staff and students of the university to avoid late-night movements that may predispose them to danger.
In a statement published in its official bulletin, the university authority expressly advised members of the university community to “be security conscious” in light of the growing number of killings and kidnapping activities in Abraka and its environs.
DELSU Echo reports that the university community has been faced with lingering security challenges in the last few weeks.
Recently, a food vendor was stabbed to death by an unknown assailant, just as an Okada rider was shot dead before his motorcycle was stolen by suspected armed robbers.
There have also been several reported cases of kidnapping within and around the town in recent times.

The Vice Chancellor of DELSU, Prof. Andy Egwunyenga said the commendable feat was attained despite Nigeria’s inclement financial situation that has negatively affected the smooth administration of universities.
