FG Investigating Lagos Helicopter Crash- Bureau

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has initiated an investigation into an accident involving a Jabiru J430 aircraft that recently crashed in Lagos State.

The incident occurred a little after 1500hrs local time on Tuesday.

According to Mr. Tunji Oketunbi, the NSIB General Manager of Public Affairs in Abuja, the aircraft, registered as 5N-CCQ and operated by Air First Hospitality & Tours, was on a test flight within Lagos with two passengers onboard when it crashed around Oba Akran area.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but the aircraft caught fire on impact, which was contained by the rainfall at the time.

Both occupants were taken to the hospital for medical attention.

The NSIB is seeking assistance from the public in the form of pictures, videos, or recording evidence to aid in conducting a comprehensive investigation.
