UNIBEN Addresses Misconception On Female Hostel Donor

Published

on

The University of Benin has clarified that Senator Daisy Ehanire-Danjuma was the donor of the newly inaugurated girls’ hostel on campus.

Additionally, the university announced that Ehanire-Danjuma is currently constructing a second hostel.

This clarification was made in a statement signed by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, and released to newsmen on Friday in Benin.

The statement emphasized that while retired Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, Senator Ehanire-Danjuma’s husband, donated a hostel in 2023, the recently inaugurated one was a gift from his wife.

The university expressed its gratitude to Senator Ehanire-Danjuma for her kindness and corrected earlier reports that incorrectly attributed the donation to her husband.

According to the statement, Senator Ehanire-Danjuma’s passion for girl-child education is the driving force behind her generous gestures.

The university appreciated her commitment to supporting the education of female students.
