Ajuri Ngelale Resigns As Tinubu’s Spokesman
Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, has resigned from his position effective immediately.
In a statement released by the Presidency on Saturday, Ngelale announced that he had informed the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, of his decision to take an indefinite leave.
Ngelale also resigned from his roles as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
He cited medical issues affecting his immediate family as the reason for his departure.
The statement read: “On Friday, I submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President to notify him of my indefinite leave of absence to address pressing medical matters concerning my nuclear family.
While I understand the importance of continuity in government, this difficult decision to step down from my roles—including Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Official Spokesperson, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen—was made after extensive discussions with my family due to worsening medical circumstances.
“I look forward to resuming my national duties when circumstances allow.
I kindly request privacy for my family and myself during this challenging time.”
