The Nigeria Police Force has detailed the benefits of the new Electronic Central Motor Registry (E-CMR), a digital initiative aimed at revolutionizing vehicle information management and road safety.

ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, emphasized that the E-CMR is part of the broader “e-policing” strategy under Inspector-General Olukayode Egbetokun.

The E-CMR allows vehicle owners to register their vehicles online, facilitating faster and more secure transactions.

It provides real-time document verification, eliminating the need for physical paperwork and enabling instant flagging of stolen vehicles through online profiles.

This feature ensures quick alerts to field officers nationwide.

Launched in June, the E-CMR aims to modernize vehicle registration processes, streamline documentation, and simplify services such as ownership transfers and license renewals.

Additionally, it enhances efforts to prevent the sale of stolen vehicles.

By digitizing vehicle management, the police expect the E-CMR to improve convenience, speed, and security for vehicle owners across Nigeria.
