Students Throng Venue of DELSU SUG Elections, Express Confidence In Electoral Process

Students have currently gathered at the Convocation Arena at Delta State University, Abraka to exercise their franchise in the 2022/2023 student Union Government elections scheduled to hold today.

Our Reporter at the venue of the election said over two thousand students can be seen waiting to cast their ballots even as members of the electoral committee put finishing touches to the process.

The students are seen with various means of identification, including their student’s Identity Cards and evidence of registration for the current session.

Unlike in the years past, the University authority adopted manual voting after its initially proposed electronic voting method failed to meet the expectations of stakeholders.

The failure of e-voting, occasioned by unexpected technical glitches, had led to the cancelation if the election earlier scheduled for last Thursday.

Some of the students who commented on the ongoing electoral process are confident of a credible electoral outing, but complained about the seeming delay in the commencement of voting earlier scheduled for 10:00 am today.

Meanwhile, DELSU Echo can authoritatively report that about fifty-two suspected internet fraudsters were arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abraka on Tuesday.
