AVC Boss, Ofuegbe Advises Youths Against Cultism

The Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp in Delta State has advised youths in the State to shun cultism and related vices.
Members of the Corp gave the advise during an end of year party celebration held in Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the State.
Addressing guests at the ceremony, the Abraka Divisional Commander of the Corp, Volunteer Papay Ofuegbe urged cultists in the state to turn over a new leaf and lead better lives.
The Commander explained that despite the numerous challenges facing the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp in the state, the group will continue to resist oppression and injustice arising from cultism and its related vices.
The epochal event attracted members of the anti-cult group across the state and provided opportunities for the volunteers to unwind while also assessing their overall contributions to the peace and security of their mandate areas.
The ceremony also featured an awareness tour of Abraka community with a stopover at the Abraka Police Station among others.
Speaking on the relevance of the Anti-Cult Group, Volunteer Ovie Ejenavi who is the Divisional Commander of the Corp at Ofuoma in Ugheli North Local Government Area of Delta State, explained that the group is not a Community-Based Cult association but a body dedicated to the eradication of of cultism from the state.
On his part, a former Administrator of the Corp in Abraka, Volunteer Oghenemarho Umurhurhu explained that the scope of the Anti-Cult group ranges from cultism to drug abuse and other social vices plaguing the society.
In separate interviews, guests at the ceremony praised the immense contributions of the anti-cult volunteer Corp to the overall security of Abraka and its environs, and called on the federal government to fully support the group.
