Mmesoma: Soludo’s Panel Submits Report, Indicts Schoolgirl of Forgery

The Committee of Inquiry set up by the Government of Anambra State to thoroughly investigate the controversy around the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Result (UTME) results of Ejikeme Mmesoma has submitted its findings to the state government.

The panel asserted that “Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma admitted that she manipulated the fake results herself, using her phone” and, therefore, recommended that the schoolgirl tenders apology to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The state Commissioner for Information, Paul Nwosu, confirmed the submission of the panel’s report in a release on Friday, according a SaharaReporters’ report.

He said, “The Committee of Inquiry set up by the Government of Anambra State to thoroughly investigate the JAMB/Mmesoma’s matter has submitted its report.

The Anambra State government had earlier set up an eight-member committee of enquiry to investigate the allegation that a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidate in the state, Mmesoma Ejikeme, doctored her result.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had in a statement issued by its spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, accused the student of forging her result, but Mmesoma stood her ground that she scored 362 out of the total mark of 400.

Benjamin revealed its records indicated the candidate had sent a series of messages to the board’s automated telecoms system, including the results showing an aggregate of 362.

JAMB subsequently slammed a 3-year ban on the pupil from Anambra State, a move that triggered mixed reactions.

Just recently, Mmesoma admitted to have scored 249 while appearing with her father, on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

Her latest confession is contrary to the impression she made earlier when she claimed to have score 362 in the UTME.
