Gunmen Kidnap Oyo State Governor’s Aide
Gunmen reportedly kidnapped Otunba Benedict Akika, an ally of Governor Seyi Makinde and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, on Wednesday night. The incident occurred at his residence in Olohundaaba, Lagelu Local Government area.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Akika was abducted from his home on Akobo Ojurin-Olohunda road, Ibadan. There are also unconfirmed reports of a fatality during the incident.
Details surrounding the kidnapping are still unclear, but relevant authorities have stated that they are investigating the situation. Attempts to contact the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, for confirmation were unsuccessful.
